Yeah, it told me to get a rollerball (which I used to love), but I'm going to probably check out their retractable gel pens when I'm at OfficeMax tonight getting a new whiteboard.

edit: I just realized that I'm going to Office Depot, not OfficeMax, tonight. Oh well.

Brian, thanks for the tip. I've noticed that my syncs are already getting faster, probably due to the fact that I stopped pushing the "sync" button obsessively (old habits) and my iDisk isn't going offline randomly. :)

I love OmniFocus, but I'm especially impressed you took the time to answer my only complaint. Thanks!

If sync is taking several minutes, it sounds like you're in a situation where both the server and the iPhone have changes that need to be merged. In cases like that, we basically rebuild our database from scratch (in order to roll in the merged changes). On a phone-class CPU, that can take several minutes.

Basically, if you try to edit on one device at a time, pushing up to the server before starting your edits on another device, you'll get much quicker sync.

OK, I took the bait - only because it involved pens. My only problem is that it said I should get the ballpoint pen - I HATE ballpoint pens! But it was creative and I, too, will probably check out their pens - GEL pens - someday.

For implementing GTD you might try out this new web-based application:

http://www.gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version and iCal are available too.

Hope you like it.

Actually your first "Day Runner" was a red notebook for which you fashioned your own dividers, calendars and address pages and included a map of our neighborhood complete with pay phones. You were 6 years old and in the first grade. That was my first clue I was in real trouble. That and your obsessive love for pens, color-coded folders and office supply stores. Your history of time management has some very familiar parts - which is very eerie. I felt like I was being unfaithful to my PDA a few months ago when I wandered back to the Day Runner section of Office Max longing for paper and colored pens once again. You are truly a chip off this Old Block. MOM

I'm sorry - I think you inherited that urge to work and not sleep from your Mother. I guess you could forget Mother's Day to get back at her but then she'd have to kill you.

Yeah, i loved looking at your notes to re-hash the design panels I got into. It's always after SXSW when you see these things and think, "Man, I didn't meet *that* guy." So many creative people, so little time. :)
